Call for Sessions

Now in its 5th installment AMEMR is a conference designed for the marine modelling community. It provides an opportunity to present, discuss and learn about a wide variety of marine modelling challenges, methods, applications and outcomes.

We are keen for the community to influence the conference themes, and so welcome suggestions for topics or sessions, along the general theme of modelling and understanding marine systems, predicting change and underpinning sustainable development.

Submission of Proposals
Proposals for Sessions or topics should include the following information:
  1. The title of the Topic/Session
  2. A short description of the focus and/or rationale (not exceeding 150 words)
  3. The name, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail address(es) of the proposer(s)

The deadline for proposal submission is 31 July 2016.

We can’t promise to run with every idea and may well have to merge and synthesise topics to give a balanced programme, however we will ask some proposers to join the steering committee or run sessions.

Call for
breakout meetings
or training courses

In addition, following the suggestions made at the last event we hope to run a series of workshop/side events for AMEMR 2017 as per the needs of the community.

Hence we welcome ideas for workshops, small meetings and training courses to compliment the main AMEMR conference. These could be held during a dedicated afternoon session (4 large rooms available, no extra charge), or immediately before or after the main conference (this would require extra financing from participants). Activities should be open to all.

Please submit you proposal using the button below, information should include:
  • Brief description and relevance to AMEMR community
  • Target audience
  • Materials needed
  • Space requirements

The deadline for submission of event ideas is also 31 July 2016. Again we cannot promise to run with every idea and we may be limited by practicalities.

We will contact proposers in approximately late August – early September.
