The AMEMR Story
The 5th AMEMR Symposium explored the key themes of Where have we come from and where are we going? and how how are work is Making an Impact. We had 53 talks, 5 keynote speakers and 84 posters.
AMEMR 2014 explored and identified the new challenges facing the extended marine modelling community, and focused on forging links with scientist from a diverse range of backgrounds.
In 2011 AMEMR emphasised the practical application of models in the context of operational forecast, policy development and environmental management.
Three years on, the community had an opportunity to gauge progress and define new key challenges. With a growing international audience the conference focused on the the key challenges presently facing those developing marine ecosystem models.
AMEMR provided a new forum for presentation of all aspects of model based marine ecosystem research, encompassing numerical, conceptual, mathematical and statistical approaches.
A special issue was published in Journal of Marine Systems (vol 64, 2007).
